Funding & Payouts

Director handles all the prize fund math so you can focus on running the tournament. From calculating the fund to distributing payouts, everything is tracked in one place.

Prize Fund Calculation

The prize fund is automatically calculated using the formula:

As entries are added or removed, the prize fund updates in real time. You can view the full breakdown on the Funding tab inside any tournament.

Payout Table

The payout table shows each position that receives money:

• Position — 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.
• Amount — dollar amount for that position
• Winner — assigned automatically from standings, or manually overridden

The number of payout positions is determined by your payout ratio. For example, with 40 entries and a 1-in-5 ratio, the top 8 positions receive payouts.

Payout Templates

Director includes built-in payout templates that distribute the prize fund across positions using common patterns (top-heavy, flat, graduated). Select a template to auto-fill the payout amounts, then adjust individual positions if needed.

Marking Paid / Unpaid

After the tournament, use the toggle next to each winner to mark them as Paid. This helps you track who has received their payout and who still needs to be paid.

USBC Form 8

For sanctioned tournaments, Director can generate a USBC Form 8 financial report. This report includes:

• Tournament information (name, dates, center, sanction number)
• Entry summary (total entries, entry fee breakdown)
• Financial breakdown (total collected, lineage, admin fees, added money, prize fund)
• Complete prize distribution list
