Brackets & Match Play
Run elimination brackets and match play rounds with visual bracket trees, automatic advancement, and detailed result tracking.
Bracket Management
Generating Brackets
Open the Bracket
Navigate to the bracket event or side pot within your tournament.
Generate the Bracket
Tap Generate Bracket. Director creates the bracket tree from the entry list, handling seeding and byes automatically.
Enter Match Scores
Tap any matchup in the bracket tree to enter scores for both bowlers. The higher score advances automatically.
Continue Through Rounds
As you enter scores, winners advance through the bracket. Continue until a champion is determined.
Elimination Formats
Director supports two elimination formats:
- Single Elimination — one loss and you are out. The bracket tree narrows each round until one winner remains.
- Double Elimination — bowlers must lose twice to be eliminated. A winner's bracket and loser's bracket run in parallel, with a potential rematch in the finals.
Bye Support
When the entry count is not a power of two, Director automatically assigns byes to top-seeded bowlers. Bye bowlers advance to the next round without playing.
Match Play
For sweeper-format match play events (not elimination brackets), Director manages round-by-round pairings and point accumulation.
Select the Round
Use the round selector to choose which round you are scoring.
Generate Pairings
Tap Generate Pairings to create matchups for the round. Pairings can be random, seeded, or lane-based.
Enter Scores & Results
Enter each bowler's score. Director determines the result: W (win), L (loss), or T (tie) and awards match play points accordingly.
View Standings
Match play standings show each bowler's total points accumulated across all rounds.
Tip
For bracket side pots, bowlers can buy multiple entries. Each entry is treated as a separate slot in the bracket.
