Students
Students are at the heart of Tournament Sense Coach. This guide covers adding students, managing their profiles, inviting them via code, and exploring the detail tabs that give you a complete picture of each student.
Viewing Your Student List
The Students tab shows your full roster. Each student card displays their name, average, and number of sessions. Use the search bar at the top to quickly find a student by name.
Adding a Student Manually
Tap the + button to open the new student form. Fill in as much detail as you have:
Basic Info
Enter the student's name, email, and phone number.
Bowling Profile
Add their bowling-specific details:
- USBC # — their sanctioned bowler number
- Handedness — right or left-handed
- Style — stroker, cranker, tweener, or two-handed
- Thumb — conventional, fingertip, or no thumb
- Ball Weight — preferred ball weight in pounds
- Average — their current bowling average
Save
Tap Save to add the student to your roster. You can edit any field later from their detail screen.
Inviting Students via Code
If your student uses the Tournament Sense Bowling app, you can link accounts so their data flows into your coaching dashboard.
Generate an Invite Code
From the Students tab, tap Invite Student. A unique code will be generated.
Share the Code
Send the code to your student via text, email, or in person. They enter it in their Bowling app under Settings.
Linked
Once accepted, the student's bowling data syncs to your Coach app automatically.
Tip
Students who are linked via code can see shared notes and assignments you create for them directly in their Bowling app.
Student Detail Tabs
Tap any student to open their detail screen. The detail view is organized into tabs:
- Info — contact details and bowling profile. Edit any field here.
- Sessions — all past and upcoming sessions with this student.
- Goals — coaching goals you have set together, with progress tracking.
- Assignments — active and completed homework for this student.
- Arsenal — the student's ball arsenal (synced from their Bowling app if linked).
- Notes — private coach notes and shared notes visible to the student.
- Progress — charts and trends showing improvement over time.
Archiving Students
When you are no longer actively coaching a student, you can archive them instead of deleting. Archived students are hidden from your main list but their data is preserved.
Open Student Detail
Tap the student you want to archive.
Tap the Menu
Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and select Archive Student.
Restore Anytime
To view archived students, toggle the filter on the Students list. Tap an archived student and select Restore to bring them back.
