Notes
Notes let you capture observations, coaching feedback, and reminders for each student. Choose whether notes are private to you or shared with the student, and keep everything organized by type.
Note Types
Every note has a type that controls its visibility and purpose:
- Private — visible only to you. Use these for internal coaching notes, personal reminders, or sensitive observations you do not want the student to see.
- Shared — visible to both you and the student. Use these for feedback, encouragement, session takeaways, or anything you want the student to reference later.
- Observation — a structured observation note. Use these when watching a student bowl to capture specific technical observations about their approach, release, or ball motion.
Creating a Note
Select a Student
Choose which student this note is about. Notes are always linked to a specific student.
Choose the Type
Select Private, Shared, or Observation.
Write Your Note
Enter the note content. There is no length limit — write as much or as little as needed.
Save
Tap Save. The note is timestamped and linked to the student. Shared notes become visible to the student immediately.
Filtering Notes
Use the filter chips at the top of the Notes screen to show only notes of a specific type. You can filter by:
- All — every note across all types.
- Private — only your private coaching notes.
- Shared — only notes visible to students.
- Observation — only observation notes.
Viewing Notes from Student Detail
You can also access notes from a student's detail screen. The Notes tab on the student detail page shows all notes for that student, filtered by type. This is the quickest way to review a student's full note history before a session.
Tip
Get in the habit of writing a quick private note after every session. Over time, these notes build a detailed history that makes writing progress reports much easier.
