Entering Scores

The frame entry screen is where you record every roll. Tournament Sense supports two input modes, ball and speed tracking, targeting data, and automatic saving so you never lose a frame.

Getting to the Score Screen

You can enter scores from any tournament event, league session, or practice session. Open the event and tap a game slot to launch the frame entry screen.

Pin Deck Mode

The default input mode shows a visual 10-pin layout on screen.

1

Tap Pins Knocked Down

Tap each pin that was knocked down on your roll. Selected pins highlight to show they have been marked.

2

Confirm the Roll

Tap the confirm button to record the roll. On a strike, the frame auto-advances to the next frame.

Numeric Keypad Mode

If you prefer a faster entry method, switch to keypad mode. Instead of tapping individual pins, you simply enter the pin count (0-10) knocked down on each roll. Toggle this in Settings > Pin Input Mode.

10th Frame Rules

The 10th frame follows standard bowling rules:

Ball Tracking

Select which ball from your arsenal you are throwing on each roll. You can change the ball mid-game at any time by tapping the ball selector. This data feeds into your ball performance analytics.

Targeting & Speed

The targeting strip below the scorecard lets you record detailed shot data for each frame. Tap any field to enter a value:

Auto carry-forward: When you advance to the next frame, your targeting data automatically carries forward. You only need to change what moved — if you shifted 2 boards left, just update the stance. This makes tracking targeting fast even during league play.

This data powers Pro targeting analytics including board distributions, consistency metrics, top lines, and entry angle analysis. See the Targeting guide for more details.

Game Notes

Add a quick note to any game — lane conditions, adjustments, what worked. Notes are lighter than a full journal entry and appear on the game card. You can expand any note into a full journal entry later.

Auto-Save

Scores save automatically as you enter them. You can close the app, switch to another screen, or even restart your phone — your progress is always preserved.

Score Scanning PRO

Pro subscribers can use their phone camera to scan scores directly from overhead monitors. See the Score Scanning guide for details.
