Data Import

Switching from another bowling app? Tournament Sense can import your history from PinPal, Bowlr, and BowlSheet so you do not lose years of data.

How to Access Import

1

Open Settings

Go to Settings > Import Data.

2

Choose Your Source

Select the app you are importing from. Each source has its own import format.

3

Select Your File

Pick the backup or export file from your device. The import runs automatically and shows a summary when complete.

Supported Sources

PinPal

Import from a PinPal SQLite backup file. This is the most complete import — PinPal's database structure maps closely to Tournament Sense. Game notes from PinPal are imported directly onto the corresponding game's note field.

Bowlr

Import from a Bowlr CSV export. Export your data from Bowlr first, then select the CSV file. Game notes from Bowlr are preserved during import.

BowlSheet

Import from a BowlSheet CSV export. Export your data from BowlSheet, then select the CSV file in Tournament Sense.

What Gets Imported

Depending on the source app, the import brings in as much data as possible:

Duplicate Detection

The import process checks for duplicates before writing data. If a league, tournament, game, or other record already exists in Tournament Sense, it will not be overwritten. This means you can safely run the import more than once without creating duplicate entries.

Tip

Back up your data before importing. The import is additive — it will not delete or overwrite existing data in Tournament Sense. But it is always smart to have a backup just in case.

Tip

If your import file is large (thousands of games), the process may take a minute or two. Let it finish completely before navigating away.
